How to identify plastic bottle caps

PUBLISHER:Mengzhou Zhongfu Packaging Technology Co. , Ltd. CLICK:2892

Mainly look at the numbers under the plastic bottle

                    1.PET (polyethylene terephthalate)

The plastic recycling code No. 1 is PET, which is commonly known as a special bottle when used on a container. Such as detergents, shampoos, and mineral water packaging bottles, Baote bottles have been widely used. Identification method: Pott bottles are usually colorless and transparent, and some are colored into light green, light blue or brown. The round PET bottle has a dot under the bottom, and there is no seam elsewhere in the bottle, which is the easiest way to identify it.

                    2.HDPE (high density polyethylene)

PE (polyethylene) is the most widely used plastic in industry and life. It is usually divided into two types: high density polyethylene (HDPE) and low density polyethylene (LDPE). PE is resistant to both acid and alkali. Excellent. At present, most of the plastic bags and various translucent or opaque plastic bottles seen on the market are made of PE, such as detergents, shampoos, bath milk, cooking oil, pesticides, etc. HDPE bottles. Identification method: Mostly opaque, feels like wax, rustle when rubbing or rubbing in plastic bag.

                    3.PVC (polyvinyl chloride)

The invention of PVC is quite early and is mostly used in industrial products, but most of them are in non-food fields, such as water pipes, raincoats, school bags, building materials, plastic films, plastic boxes, and so on. Because the PVC bottle is highly breathable, it will not be used to hold carbonated drinks. Mineral water is the largest product in food containers, and some salad oil bottles also use PVC. Identification method: The bottom of a round PVC bottle is a straight line, which is the difference from a special bottle. White marks will appear on the PVC when it is strongly folded, and it will turn iron red after prolonged exposure in the sun; there will be a cyan flame on the edge when it is burned with fire, and the ductility is poor, so it is a feature to stop burning as soon as the fire source leaves. (Note: Toxic vinyl chloride may be released when burning PVC. Please test in an open and ventilated place.)

                    4.LDPE (low density polyethylene)

Most plastic bags and plastic films are made of LDPE. Containers made of LDPE are translucent, like milk bottles, film boxes, etc. without colorants. Identification method: LDPE-made plastic bags are softer and less rustling when rubbed. The plastic film that is soft and easy to tear is LDPE, while the more brittle and hard is PVC or PP film.

                    5.PP (polypropylene)

Bottle makers often use PE to make the bottle body. The caps and handles are made of PP with greater hardness and strength. Of course, there are also bottles made directly from PP. The most common are soybean milk and rice milk bottles, but larger containers. Buckets, trash cans, laundry tanks, etc. are mostly made of PP. Disposable tableware made of PP, like the red plastic bowls commonly used at "banquet" banquets, and plastic boxes for microwave food, are made of PP. Identification method: PP and PE are difficult to separate. Generally speaking, the hardness of PP is higher and the surface is more shiny. PE is like a wax device. The candle smell of PE is heavier when burning.

                    6, PS (polystyrene)

PS has low water absorption and good size stability. It is mainly used in toys, stationery, rollers, lining (like the white lining of a refrigerator), etc., and industrial packaging cushioning materials. Unfoamed PS has bottles and cans in the dairy industry such as Yakult, yogurt, pudding boxes, and lids for fast food beverages on food containers. The foamed flat plate is widely used in disposable tableware after vacuum forming, such as Polylon disposable tableware. Identification method: For unfoamed products, there are white marks on light folding, and there is diffusion phenomenon, which can usually be torn by hand.
